Who is considered international?
An international student is one who attends WLC on a non-immigrant F-1 visa.
*Students who have legal permanent residency (“green card”) status through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security or who are U.S. citizens by birth but have grown up overseas may be culturally and socially “international,” but for purposes of the application, enrollment and financial aid eligibility, they should follow all procedures for U.S. citizens.
Wave Leadership College uses an application process that allows you to complete most of your application online. Click here to Apply Now.
International students must supply a copy of their current, valid passport with an expiration date of at least six months beyond the end date of their program.
All international students must show that they are financially prepared to pay for student tuition/fees and living estimates. Students must complete the financial certification form and provide supporting documentation.
Credentials and Test Scores
A necessary part of the application process includes submitting transcripts from educational institutions attended. Please note the requirements below:
- Official (sealed) transcripts from all institutions attended (high school and college) are required.
- All transcripts that are not from an American institution must be evaluated. A course-by-course evaluation is required and the transcript must be converted to the American Grade Point Average system and English Language.

For international students in which English is not the primary language of their country the TOEFL exam must be taken to demonstrate one’s effectiveness with the English language. This test may be waived under certain conditions. Individuals that will need to take the TOEFL exam should consult the TOEFL website to learn more about passing scores, locations, times, and costs associated with the exam.
